Finding solitude in our contemporary invasive world is an ongoing task. An escape from the terrible and mundane provides a mandatory requiem. Models of creativity produce my catharsis and an outlet for my voice. This blog is one of corners where I find that solitude, that escape, that cathartic release of my voice.
My name is Wendyam Ouedraogo, an optomistic cynic. I am the 5th born and only son of a compassionate mother and studious father. Born in Niger and raised in Oceanside, CA. I work in education because I have a passion for knowledge and our youth. I freelance write because I thoroughly enjoy it and a brotha’s gotta eat.
Different forms of my inspiration, my literary work through poems, commentaries, and essays, lyrics, thoughts, recordings, and any artistic modes of expression will litter this page and I hope that all visitors can find a gem from all this rubble.
Justice is important to me. Cornell West’s quote “Justice is what love looks like in public” match my sentiments exactly.
I will be critical of policies and actions which: continue the cycle of oppression, manifest as tools of social suppression, and create an atmosphere in which discourse and dialogue are not possible.
I am an advocate for all oppressed people, God centered in my spirituality, healthy and sustainable living minded, and a hip-hop loving millennial.
